Two days of SXSW are on the books and I've managed to see a ton of bands and hang out with great people from Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. My top favorite bands so far: Bad Brains, The Kills, and TV on the Radio. I've seen Yuck, James Blake, The Vaccines and Tennis - and countless others I don't even know the names of!
Another notable performance was Still Corners, a recent Sub Pop signee, at an intimate showcase inside the Convention Center - not a sole in the house was paying attention to anyone but them, purely awesome.
I'm running into Seattle folks everywhere I go too - last night I hung out with Christopher Nelson, (photographer, who has a show up in The Paramount Bar right now) I can't wait to see the photographs he captures! EMP, CityArts, Square Peg Concerts, Neuoms, Billions...it seems like everyone is down here.
Off I go - heading to the KEXP live broadcast today and the SxSeattle Party starts in 10 minutes. Where else will I'll go? What else will I do? I'm not a 100% sure, but that's the fun part - following amazing music and enjoying Austin sun.
